Born in Minneapolis, Paul grew up primarily in New Hope, Minnesota, a northwest suburb of Minneapolis.  His father was a VP for Lone Star Industries, a Fortune 500 Company, and his mother was an RN who worked at a local hospital in their OB/GYN department (Labor/Delivery).    Paul was the middle of three children, an older brother who is now a chef near Milwaukee, Wisconsin and a younger sister who is an RN at a major trauma center in Milwaukee.
